Residencies and Exhibition Space
The Mœurs Foundation offers residencies to artists, researchers, and cultural practitioners seeking time and space for focused inquiry, experimentation, and creation.
In addition to the residencies, Mœurs hosts an exhibition space that functions as a platform for presenting work, fostering public dialogue, and connecting local and international audiences. This space supports projects that emerge from or align with the foundation’s broader ethos—foregrounding research, process, and socially engaged practice.
Residencies
Rooted in the belief that knowledge, creativity, and sustainable development are deeply intertwined, the Mœurs residencies serve as a meeting ground for diverse disciplines: from the arts and humanities to environmental science, technology, and social thought, residents are encouraged to explore their practices through the lens of local context and global interconnectedness, engaging with surrounding communities, landscapes, and traditions.
With locations in Galicia, Mallorca, and Madrid, our sites provide both seclusion and cultural richness—settings that invite immersion, exploration, and dialogue. Residencies are not just spaces to work—they are spaces to listen, to question, and to construct new languages of understanding. Whether in the rural calm of Galicia, the insular rhythms of Mallorca, or the layered urbanity of Madrid, participants are invited to trace new paths of meaning across boundaries of place, discipline, and perspective.
Residencies are offered for periods ranging from one to four weeks, with no associated fees; the program is offered as a scholarship to applicants who demonstrate strong intent, clarity of purpose, and alignment with the Foundation’s values. Applications are considered on a rolling basis and evaluated based on submitted work samples and/or a website that reflects the applicant’s practice. To request the application form or to ask any questions, please contact info@moeurs.org. For those interested in staying as a visitor rather than a resident, details on availability and rates can be requested via the inquiry page at moeurs.es.
Exhibition Space
In addition to the residency program, Mœurs maintains a flexible exhibition space in Madrid’s Salamanca neighborhood. Located in a former bakery, the site has been renovated to function as both a gallery and a temporary residence. The design preserves aspects of the original structure while incorporating modular features suited to exhibitions, installations, and project-based work.
The exhibition space is occasionally offered to residents on a scholarship basis as an opportunity to share their work publicly. Proposals are required and should outline clear objectives; all submissions are reviewed by Mœurs through a selection process. Interested residents can contact us directly to learn more.
